We’ve just got back from playing at the most lovely wedding over in Kingston at St James’ Church. Gosh. What an amazing place – such fantastic acoustics, and with the place bedecked in Autumn garlands, with the sun shining – it really did feel pretty special. Not to mention the fact that this was all taking place under the watchful gaze of our namesake hill: Nine Barrow Down. What a magical way to start our October gigs?!
And there’s more exciting stuff to come: we’re really delighted to be taking part in the inaugural Sixpenny Handley Folk Club this month – it’s great to be a part of a new local musical venture, and we’re really hoping it’ll become a regular event on the local folk scene.
In other news: we’ve been busy thinking about the new CD and working on the final track listing. We’ve also had some fab jams with some really talented local string instrumentalists and we’re hoping to collaborate on a few tracks, which is REALLY exciting! Can’t wait to get recording! By the time we update the blog in November, we’ll have hopefully laid down most of the instrumental and vocal tracks.
We’ve had a really nice break since the end of the summer – but absence certainly makes the heart grow fonder: we can’t wait to get back to some regular gigging and hopefully we’ll see some familiar faces out and about!
