Harvest time already...?

July 30, 2014

We just spent a day celebrating Jon's Grandma's 87th Birthday in London. She's got this glorious apple tree in her garden which has already begun to shed some of its rather massive wealth of fruit. Jon's nephew, Dylan, was even munching blackberries straight off a bush down the bottom of the garden! It seems a bit early to us...but what do we know?!  Whatever the apples and blackberries may be doing...we're not quite ready to say goodbye to summer just yet...!

We've got a few nice shows coming up - we'll be playing some live tracks and chatting about all things Ninebarrow on Hope FM this Wednesday and then we're off for some R&R at Sidmouth Folk Festival on Friday and Saturday. We're also doing a few tunes at Sidmouth's Arts Centre Acoustic Showcase on Saturday night. The week after we're really excited to be doing another radio gig with the lovely Genevieve Tudor on BBC Radio Shropshire. If you've not heard her show before, Genevieve puts on a great selection of music - so definitely check her out!

So - what else? We've been booking up some exciting gigs in 2015 (and even 2016!!). We'll be touring in February and May 2015 and we've recently had a really exciting meeting with Artsreach Dorset about becoming involved in a couple of brilliant and intriguing projects.

We also played our first 'house concert' this month in Alderholt. We're chuffed to say it couldn't have been a more magical evening and we can't wait to play our next one in September! If you're interested in having us play in your living room, garden or barn...(!) take a look at our 'House Concerts' page  to find out more.

The picture for this blog entry is a rather glorious snap we took on Canford Heath the other day. May the long days last...! :)

See you soon,

Jon and Jay x
