Shortlisted for Best Debut Album of 2014!

December 20, 2014

Hi there!

Well, we’re almost at the end of the year. And what a year?! Looking back through our gig list brings the two of us lots of happy memories…

…launching our first full-length album in April, with Kadia and Will McNichol to a sell-out audience at Lighthouse Poole…

…having Summer Fires played on Mike Harding’s Folk Show…

…supporting some awesome folk acts like Philip Henry & Hannah Martin, Blair Dunlop, Miranda Sykes & Rex Preston, Flossie Malavialle, Dave Swarbrick and Seth Lakeman…

…being part of the Armistace Pal’s version of Pete Seeger’s Where Have All The Flowers Gone, which then got played on Radio 2…

…the feast of folk festivals we played at all over the place, including our first gig on the other side of the Channel Tunnel…

…hitting the 1,000 likes milestone on facebook!

And our latest and BIGGEST news...?

To top all of this off, we’ve just been shortlisted for FATEA Magazine’s Debut Album of the Year award! You’ll be able to listen live on Blues and Roots Radio via the Fatea website on the 9th January to find out if we clinch the award! We’ll put up details of how to listen on our website over the next week.

We really have had such an amazing year, and have met so many new friends along the way.

So, what does the New Year have in store for us?

Well, for starters you can expect to see us playing a little further afield than our usual stomping ground of the South. We’re all over the place – from Fishguard to Sheffield! Our next show is at The Stables in Milton Keynes on the 24th of January – a legendary venue and we can’t wait to play there! Then, in February we’ll be embarking on our first mini-tour.

We’ll be continuing our work with the Dorset Artsreach team on their South Dorset Ridgeway Project (which means some new Ninebarrow songs coming soon).

We’ve already got quite a list of festival bookings for 2015 as well – and we’re so excited to announce that we’ve been booked to play the 51st Towersey Festival. Along with this, we’ve also got 10 other festival bookings for the summer – with more to be confirmed over the next few months.

Thank you all so much for being a part of our year – the support we’ve received from everyone has really been pretty overwhelming. This is becoming a very exciting journey and we really can’t wait to play for you again on the other side of Christmas.
All the best – and a very happy New Year to you all!

Jay and Jon
