Best Debut Album of the Year!

January 23, 2015

Happy New Year and we hope you're having a good start to 2015!

We certainly are! It's official: FATEA Magazine announced 'While the Blackthorn Burns' as Best Debut Album of the Year in their awards show last week! Needless to say - we're absolutely thrilled! When we started recording WTBB in the spare room of our old house, the thought of it winning any awards never even entered our heads! It's all pretty surreal and rather lovely! :)

Other than that - we've been having a great break! We've been out and about plenty; we caught the blog's snowdrop photo in Studland Village the other weekend. We're kind of hoping spring is on the way, but to be honest...we've just got this feeling winter may have a little more in store for us. Other than yomping, we've been re-working some older material, writing some new material and also embarking on a really exciting collaboration which we'll hopefully be able to tell you a bit more about in the near future.

We're playing our first show of 2015 next weekend too - at The Stables in Milton Keynes. We're really excited about this one. The venue's got a pretty legendary status, so we're looking forward to it! There are still tickets available,  so if you're in the area on the 24th January, we'd love to see you there!

After that - we've got our inaugural tour in February! You can check out all of the dates on the website (Poole, Bradninch, Bath, Clevedon and Oxford). The first is at the stunning Skinner Street Church in Poole on Saturday 14th of February. We've got support for from the superb Kadia too. You can find details on the gigs page - and we'd love to see you there if you're in the area.

Until next time!

Jay and Jon
