Charity Single Released

August 23, 2015

Hi there!
We hope this newsletter finds you well and enjoying a summer filled with quality music!
We can safely say we’re having the best summer ever! So busy, in fact, that it’s been 3 months since we last sent out a newsletter – so we thought we'd better put that right as we’ve got some exciting things afoot!
Charity single release!

You might remember a while back we told you that we were working on a collaboration with a fantastic Hampshire-based folk singer called Louise Jordan.  Having wanted to work together on something musical for quite a while, we hit on the idea of doing a version of ‘Home, Lads, Home’ – a First World War inspired poem by Cicely Fox Smith, and put to music by Sarah Morgan. The reasons for picking this particular song were two-folk really. Firstly, it’s just absolutely beautiful! Secondly, with the centenary of the First World War taking place at the moment, we felt it had a poignancy that we just couldn't overlook.
Originally we were planning just to record a live video, but we were really rather pleased with our rehearsals! Thinking we might have something rather special, we decided not only to release the video, but also release the song as a charity single in aid of Help for Heroes.
The release date for the single is the 23rd August…and that just happens to be TODAY!
To watch the video, donate, download the single and find out a whole lot more about the project – click here or on the image above. If you know someone who you think might like to watch the video and maybe even download the single - please do forward this on to them!
We’re aiming to raise £500, and we’d be so grateful for your support.

How do you follow that?!
Well – that really is the main reason for us contacting you – but as we said at the start – we’re having a fantastic summer. We’ve done two tours since we last contacted you! We had such a lot of fun on both – the latest being our first series of concerts in the north of England. And not to forget – supporting Kate Rusby in front of a sell-out crowd at Sidmouth Folk Week.
And the good news is, the summer’s not over yet! We’ve got Towersey Festival and Lyme Folk Weekend still to go this month, with Burnham-on-Sea, Swanage and South Downs folk festivals to come in September.
Please do check out the other dates we’ve got coming up at the side of this page or on the website.
Please don’t forget – if you like what we do and you’d like to see us playing at some more of your favourite venues and festivals – please do tell people about us! Word of mouth is such a powerful thing – a post on a facebook page, a tweet or an email – it all helps and we’d be so grateful.
So…that’s all for now folks! Hope to catch you at a show soon!
Take care,
Jon and Jay
